This has been bothering me for a long time. A very close family friend past away of Cancer a few years ago. He and his wife were long-time Republican voters, and I can only assume solely for financial reasons. And it tears me up inside thinking that if they had voted Democrat, and stem cell research had progressed, then maybe he- and so many other people- would still be here today.
Cancer doesn't care if you are a Democrat or Republican, so either the Republicans need to start supporting Stem Cell Research, or people need to stop voting Republican.
I'm tired of losing good people to Cancer. Aren't you?
I think a lot of people vote Republican for their own economic reasons. And while I think this is selfish and foolish, it could be indirectly helping kill the people you love, and if no one has pointed this out, I think it needs to be said.
Republicans, in general, do not support stem cell research. You need no proof farther than George W. Bush, the current Neo-Con administration, and the Crazy Christian Right to see this. I am sure there are normal-minded Republicans (and Christians) who support stem cell research but still support the GOP and thus elect people who do not support stem cell research.
Well, if you know someone with Cancer, or have lost someone to Cancer, and you vote Republican, I am sorry to say you're part of the problem- not the solution- and this bothers me a great deal. What is so much more important to you that you would vote for people who deny medical advancement and a possible cure to the plague of our time?
Stem cell research advancements have come at a snails pace because of the policies of the GOP which are fueled by the Christian voters that the GOP manipulates. If you have lost someone to Cancer, if you are losing someone to Cancer, then please vote for Democrats this election. It's time to let stem cell research progress rapidly so that one day Cancer patients will all have a fighting chance at living another day.
