Alan Greenspan said that.
We are actually witnessing the second Great Wall Street Crash. There is no magic wand, there is no government agency, and there is no war that will be able to repair the damage done to our financial system. The great game is over.
Bush has succeeded in destroying anything of value American society once possessed.
Every appointment Bush has made, from the Justice department, to every Secretary, to every general, and every other post he anointed someone for, is involved with corruption or his performing corrupt deeds. Bush has not done one good thing with his eight years. Not one. He will be remembered as the worst president in history, no matter what his 28% groupies think. He will be remembered for destroying more civil rights in eight years than 230 years of government regulation could achieve. He will be remembered as the only president to sincerely belief Jesus speaks to him and gives him policy suggestions. He will be remembered as the only President to, single handily, get every nation on earth to hate us (except for Israel and UK). The once in a century event was electing GWB twice. It took a populace so enthralled with antagonism and hatred, so blind to reality, so voluntarily ignorant, to elect GWB again.
Yet, GWB did not take one thing away. Hope. Despite the current administrations every effort to stop people from caring, to stop people from voting, and stop people from believing in government, something is happening that no pundit predicted. A leader has emerged that mocks sarcasm and indifference. A leader that believes in people making the right decision. A leader that calls out the lies poured out by Bush and his cronies. A leader that believes the populace is rational.
This election has been called a generational shift. I think this is true. I think the youth shows up and votes overwhelming for Obama. I think, my people, stand up to their elders and say enough. No more petty, bullshit. No more stupid, social drama. We are tired of a polarized electorate. The United States became great, not because of of our differences, but because we found ways to compromise. We don't care if you were raised racist. Get over it. Grow up. We will not allow your racism to destroy my future and my children's future. Your against abortion? Really, so am I. But that doesn't change the fact abortions are necessary. I refuse to accept your absolute reality, with no compromise. You don't get on board, you get left behind.
The generation divide is a glaring wound, but if it takes the youth fighting their parents and refusing to go along with their stupidity, so be it. The Hispanic community is seeing this problem. Cubans and younger internationals are registering Democratic and Independent. They will vote for Obama despite generations voting Republican.
No rational, thinking, caring human being would vote McCain/Palin. A vote for them is a vote for Armageddon. The sad thing is the populace knows it. I hope they think carefully before casting the final vote and affecting the future of the world.
