From reporting by Wired Magazine it may be that the alleged email hack into Sarah Palin's email account is a hoax perpetrated by the McCain campaign as a media distraction and to generate sympathy for the Governor turned V.P. Candidate as a victim of "Obama's goons in Alaska" (Rush Limbaugh).
First it should be noted that hacking a Yahoo email account is not the easiest thing to do. It is impossible to run a password spoof robot program that generates a random password entry, because Yahoo has a block that eliminates repeated access by such "hack Bots." The Register UK reports that hackers obtained unauthorized access to Palin's account via a web proxy, a service hackers use to disguise their IP address and location on the internet. In this case a proxy named "CTunnel" was used because it's URL web address was shown in a display by wikileaks.org.

Gabriel Ramuglia, 25 year old webmaster of CTunnel.com said this is highly unusual behavior for web hackers trying to conceal their identity.
"Since they were dumb enough to post a full screenshot that showed most of the [Ctunnel.com] URL, I should be able to find that in my log," Ramuglia said.
Further, a full newscycle after the web account was hacked Ramuglia said he has "not been contacted by any law enforcement agency" including the U.S. Secret Service. This is despite McCain camp's statement that it was asking for "a full inventigation" of the matter.
"This is a shocking invasion of the Governor's privacy and a violation of law," Rick Davis, McCain-Palin campaign manager said in a statement. "The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these e-mails will destroy them. We will have no further comment."
So why has the U.S. Secret Service nor the FBI contacted Ramuglia for information as to the use of his proxy Web Address displayed in the screen shot on WikiLeaks.com by an anonymous blogger?
FBI spokesman Brian Hale said, "The FBI is aware of the alleged hacking incident involving Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and is coordinating with the United States Secret Service on the matter."
A screenshot of Palin's email inbox was released Wednesday and widely emailed around the internet. It included text of an email from Amy McCorkill, a political appointee of Palin from Alaska. The email, an emotional personal note of support for Palin encourages her to "not let the negative press get to you" and to stand strong. McCorkell closes the note asking for Palin to "pray" for her writing that "I need strength to 1. keep employment, 2. not have to choose."
Is the latter reference interpreted to mean "to not have an abortion?" To not have to Choose Life?
Is this a coded message to religious conservatives to activate the base, that this is a fragile woman under attack from, as Rush Limbaugh mouthed "Obama's goons in Alaska?" Is this a further attempt to add another non-issue to this campaign, along with Alaska and Lipstick and now Email Gate.
This entire story on further study seems like a perfect Rovian architected hoax.
