I know we need no more convincing that Gov. Palin is ill equipped to be on any national ticket, and maybe even a state or local ticket, but this takes the cake.
CNN's Political Ticker for today notes that Palin is proposing that we put the national "check book" online, but guess who did that already???
Read on...
You guessed it our own Barack Obama.
"We’re going to do a few new things also," she said at a rally in Cedar Rapids. "For instance, as Alaska’s governor, I put the government’s checkbook online so that people can see where their money’s going. We’ll bring that kind of transparency, that responsibility, and accountability back. We’re going to bring that back to D.C."
There’s just one problem with proposing to put the federal checkbook online – somebody’s already done it. His name is Barack Obama.
And it was a bi-partisan effort. What's important here is not her arrogance, not her inability to get the facts straight, not that she knows nothing about the world she wants to enter (DC), not even that she is co-opting O's idea, but that she has given us a two-fer.
In the next campaign commercial we can simultaneously remind people why they should be frightened to have her one McBeat away from the most powerful person in the world AND why Barack Obama has what it takes to lead this nation even on issues that matter to (gasp) Republicans.
Thank you Sarah! Can't wait for tomorrow's news.

UPDATE:
As expected, the handlers have posted their lame response to this latest testament to SP's IQ
UPDATE: A campaign spokesperson insisted that Palin was referring not to that specific proposal, but rather to "that kind of transparency in general."
This, of course, is so very believable because she insists on being transparent with so many things. Some examples include: bridge funding, trooper, police chief, and librarian firings, rape kit funding, email messaging, etc.
