Please vote for Obama, please don't vote for people who shoot wolves. That is wrong. I loved the article about Greenpeace setting up the polar bear mannequins in Washington DC, but I fear they are doomed. Wolves are not, though. I used to have a close personal friend who had a lot of wolf in her. Please don't vote for people who don't think twice about killing her relatives.
I was going to vote for Nader before Gun Lady got picked. It threw me into shock. McCain wasn't personal. Gun Lady Palin is. Gun lady killed my friend's relatives. Gun Lady would have killed my friend, if she'd seen her loping across the Alaskan tundra. Kinnick looked a lot like a wolf. She was rangy, long-boned, low-tailed. She was incredible, a person, everyone loved her. Sarah Palin would have shot my wolf-dog from a helicopter. That's one of the reasons I'm voting for Obama. Because Sarah Palin would have shot my dog, my friend. And then she would have laughed.
Whenever I look at DailyKos, I want to write up some of my collection of quotes. Now that I've done my few paragraphs pointing out to you that you shouldn't vote for people who kill my friend's relatives, I hope you will bear with me. After the quotes, I've written up stuff that's sort of a spinoff from "barackobamaisyournewbicycle.com" I hope at least some of this proves enjoyable to some.
From Steinbeck's "Cannery Row"
"It has always been strange to me," said Doc. "The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest; sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first, they love the produce of the second."
"The least resistable philosophies are the most arbitrary ones, those that make sense only in terms of themselves." - Jerry Mander
"In baiting a trap with cheese, always leave room for the mouse."
-- Saki (Hector Hugh Monro)
"In Utah, they are crazy. We are leaving." - Shelly Albaum.
"If once a man indulges himself in murder, very soon he comes to think of robbing; and from robbing he comes next to drinking and sabbath-breaking, and from that to incivility and procrastination. Once begun upon this downward path, you never know where to stop. Many a man has dated his ruin from some murder or other that perhaps he thought little of at the time." (ascribed to Thomas de Quincey)
"The process is the point." - Warren Brown.
"Only use enough string to go around the package. Sometimes it takes quite a lot." - Howard Gossage.
"The secret of having friends is not to see them too often." - James Lees-Milne.
"What's friendship, when all's done, but the giving and taking of wounds?" - Frederick Buechner.
"Where do I find all the time for not reading so many books? - Karl Kraus.
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain.
"You are, to my friends; like butter is to fats. Like cliffs are to high chairs, like dimensions are to whirlwinds. Like plaid is to stripe." - Miep Rowan O'Brien.
"We live in our own souls as in an unmapped region, a few acres of which we have cleared for our habitation; while of the nature of those nearest us we know but the boundaries that march with ours." - Edith Wharton, 'The Touchstone.'
"I do not think that He should set traps." - George Stewart, "Earth Abides."
"I used to want to save the world; now I just want to leave the room with some dignity." - Lotus Weinstock
"I personally think we developed language because of our deep need to complain." - Lily Tomlin

Why you should vote for Obama:
Obama would really like you to get on with your life.
Obama won't let people try to drive you out of your houses just because they aren't perfect.
Obama wishes you could see more stars.
Obama won't try to keep you from organic gardening.
Obama enjoys peacefulness. That's why he doesn't go around trying to pick fights with people all the time.
Obama thinks it would be fun to fly kites with you.
Obama would be kind to your dog. Even if your dog was really stupid.
Obama thinks you need to take a break.
Obama is really, really tired of all of this Republican pinche stuff, but he is being really, really patient about things.
Obama thinks we all need to take a break, and then we need to get on with working with each other.
Obama is not worried about how we will do all of this.
Obama is clear on it that we already know how to do all of this, as long as we all get together and get started.
Obama is hoping we won't have to start getting worried about how we won't be allowed to do any of this, if we don't vote for Obama.
Obama already had all of this figured out (even if he voted for the FISA bill - pfft!) and is not going to go away even if we don't vote for Obama.
Obama is just getting started.
