McCain's camp has pulled out the "Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005" in an attempt to flip the script on Obama's attacks. They are combining this line of attack with linkage of Obama to a Fannie Mae scandal.
So the narrative becomes Obama in bed with the very organizations at the center of the crisis vs. McCain the maverick reformer. Obviously a strong counter punch. How is it being countered?
Franklin Raines has said that "I am not an adviser to Barack Obama, nor have I provided his campaign with advice on housing or economic matters,". So beyond the money taken by Obama that part of the narrative should die. But what about the "Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005"?
