UPDATE: Even better, McCain says that Carly Fiorina -- fired ex-CEO of HP -- "did a good job as CEO in many respects" and defends her receiving $42 million severance despite attacking CEO compensation this week.

That's five Keatings, as in the Keating 5. Back in the 1980s Charles Keating was an owner of Savings and Loans who wanted the federal government to back off his, well, back. He started donating to Senators to get some help lobbying the government and passing deregulation of his industry.
Senator John McCain was one of five United States Senators who helped Keating, and earned his own place in what became known as the Keating 5. He was given a light slap on the wrist by his colleagues in the Senate Ethics Committee for working to help Keating, but because he was only unethical and not criminal in helping his crooked benefactor they did not more.
Now McCain is trying to tarnish Barack Obama because he is from Chicago, which has a reputation for corruption. Never mind that McCain was BFF with Keating as he gamed the system with Lincoln Financial to steal the savings of more than 2,000 senior citizens and the taxpayers for about $3 billion.
Keating was convicted of fraud and racketeering, and McCain received a rebuke for acting unethically.
Most of the Lincoln losses were in, you guessed it, home mortgages.
Yet McCain wants to taint Obama for being from Chicago and that his staff talked to a guy who used to run Fannie Mae (or Freddy Mac, I forget which) when McCain's campaign manager was a $2 million lobbyist for Fannie and Freddy?
The Keating 5 scandal should be wrapped around McCain's neck. They're happy to talk about Obama's associations from the early 1990s or Biden's slip with speech-stealing in 1988, so how can the fact that McCain unethically aided a rackateering criminal like Charles Keating be off limits?
DURING A MORTGAGE-BASED BANKING CRISES, FOR FUCK'S SAKE???????
Put McCain in the Keating 5 stocks. He deserves it.
