The Wasilla rape kit story has been persistant on the blogs, but I at least haven't noticed much coverage in the oft-maligned 'main stream media'. I was heading out for calss today when I noticed the headline on CNN's front page.
The front page of CNN has an article entitled 'Palin's town charged women for rape exams '
http://www.cnn.com/...
I think this is great news for the 'blogosphere' - it's an example of a story that probably wouldn't have gained any traction without its repetition on popular websites like dailykos, mydd, and digg. But now that it's out there, it's likely to gain some serious air time and reach a much broader audience - really a totally new dynamic for stories being broken and being disseminated.
While we may sometimes be a rumor mill, cases like these show that what interests the progressive movement can wind up making the entire country stop and wonder. Let's see where it goes from here!
