Not a big surprise, I guess, given recent polling. But it's a shame that the 50-state strategy won't follow through all the way until Election Day.
Obama closed the 11 field offices in North Dakota last night, and gave workers the option of working in Minnesota or Wisconsin. By comparison there's at least 50 offices in Minnesota.
No democrat has won North Dakota since 1964 (Lyndon Johnson). John Kerry got 36% in 2004. But Obama was polling pretty closely until recently. I was told by a staffer there that the Palin bounce never dissipated in North Dakota.
According to the LA Times blog - McCain never had any offices there. Guess he doesn't need them. The Times also said that Obama has essentially given up previously in Georgia, Idaho and Alaska.
