A week or so ago, Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund (DWAF) released a video they entitled Sarah Palin Champions Barbaric Aerial Hunting of Wolves.
A friend of mine, Liz, a pet owner and animal lover, was so incensed when she viewed this video, she decided to make her own cover of the video.
Liz recorded herself singing a beautiful version of John Barry's Born Free and placed the audio over DWAF's chilling footage of Alaskan wolves being shot down by helicopter hunters.
Liz ends the video with a visual urging to vote Obama.
I think Liz did a great job. The song is an exquisitely ironic and sad counterpoint to the hunt legislated in Alaska, championed by Savage Sarah Palin, John McCain's vice presidential running mate.
I believe that our treatment of animals is a good indicator of the kindness or cruelty of our character.
The brutality and raw violence of the hunt documented in this video should give every American pause about Sarah Palin.
If she would do this to wolves, what torture would she authorize for human beings, should she become our president in the event of John McCain's passing?
I'm very proud of my friend Liz for taking action. I hope many more people are drawn to the DWAF video as a result of her efforts. I also hope animal lovers and pet owners, and hunters (who should object to the cheat of using helicopters to chase wild animals), will protest Sarah Palin's candidacy and her legislation of this kind of hunting.
The American people do not deserve a leader so inhumane.
