Well, more good news just keeps rolling out. Along with the $3 trillion disaster that has been the Bush Administration, I heard coming home from work today that Oil Prices soared once more. So, after seeing little drop at the pump with the previous falling prices, we are insured of no relief once more. The Bush Administration has been the biggest economic disaster in American History , and it is the gift that keeps giving.
It is also a gift that was GIVEN!! The current Congress has only been there two years, and while Mitch McConnell's obstructionism in the Senate has effectively reduced any real progress, we simply can't ignore the fact that the previous disaster of a Republican Congress, coupled with the most incompetent President in history caused all the problems we now experience.
Lets not get mad, lets get even!! Here in Kentucky's First there is a "Contract with America" Republican that was right there rubber-stamping every failed policy of the Bush Administration. Over 90% of the time, Exxon Ed Whitfield lovingly embraced the failed Bush agenda.
When the price of gas soars on all of us, Whitfield will get richer and richer off the policies he help enact, while the rest of us suffer. He has voted against investment in Renewables, Bio-fuels or any long-term solution besides Big Oil. He has insured hundreds of billions in corporate welfare for Big Oil.
This district has a Democratic tradition, and will come home to vote in this economic time. Heather Ryan is a strong candidate, and if she gets her message out, people will vote for her here.
She will fight for a real long-term energy policy:
Our country is reeling from eight long years of a poor excuse for an energy policy that was designed solely for oil and energy companies. Now that the families of our nation are suffering each day because the price of a gallon of gas has tripled over the past few years, the Republican Party, my opponent included, want to give the oil companies yet another pass by allowing them to drill as much as they want, wherever they want for however long they want. This is not a true energy plan.
A true energy plan is comprehensive and includes wind power, hydroelectricity, clean coal, solar and oil. We must expand funding for alternative energy funding and research - a concept that my opponent voted against. We cannot and must not attempt to "drill our way out" of the mess the Bush administration has created. It has not worked in the past and will not work any better for the future.

She has the fire to fight too:
She is also not afraid to take on controversial issues:
We really are right on the cusp of making this a serious race and we need the help of the blogosphere. This seat could make a real difference in the Congressional make-up next year. It IS winnable. You can make a real difference here:
