A few years ago I bought an old house and renovated it to be my office. I shopped around and found a contractor who could do the project for about $7,000 less than the other guys and hired him. He began work and in just over two months had run through almost $20,0000 with little to show for it.
My relationship with the contractor had soured some and we both knew that he was not going to finish the project. I was scheduled to go on vacation and left the checkbook with my assistant to pay for anything that needed to be covered while I was away.
On the second day Mr. Contractor came to my assistant and told her he needed $25,000 fast or we wouldn't pass inspection and it would set us back months. She refused. I fired the contractor when I got home.
The $25,000 was a money grab. He was trying to get more out of me before I fired him. $20,000 was already spent and everything he had done was not to codes and had to be redone. This is not a story about that project though. It has more to do with the money grab.
Mr. Bush has stolen billions of dollars from us to help his wealthy friends. Now he wants $700,000,000,000 to fix the mess his wealthy friends have created? The writing is on the wall, McCain will lose this election. This is a money grab. A last effort to bleed us a bit more and put the Obama administration in a worse position going forward.
If this bailout succeeds Obama will fail. He will be a one term president because the hole will be too deep.
