I'm already bracing myself for 37 references to "I was a POW for five and a half years" come this Friday's debate as McCain answers most questions with the POW non sequitur. McCain, no shyte, used that line when Leno asked "how many houses do you have?"
What scares me the most about McCain is his refusal to talk to people who hold a slightly different opinion or who he thinks are his/our "enemies."
Our world and National problems, in large part, have to do with our total lack of diplomacy. W's cowboy shit has us now sucking wind. McCain will be the same. McCain's biggest enemy, since coming home from "my 5 & 1/2" years in a POW Camp" has been the press. Let's see how "engaging" McBush has been with the press....it surely lets us know what a future under McCain would look like.....
As eloquently pointed out
John McCain once prided himself on running an open and transparent campaign, saying he could not curb his accessibility to reporters because "that destroys credibility." McCain even promised to hold weekly press conferences if elected. Add that to the list of broken campaign promises. As his campaign has descended into blatant lies and outright distortions, John McCain has slammed the door on the media access rather than answer tough questions on the dishonest and dishonorable campaign he has chosen to run. John McCain hasn't done a media availability with national reporters in more than a month. His last news conference was on August 13 in Birmingham, MI. In the month since, he has launched a string of lies that have been called "truly vile," some of the "sleaziest ads ever" and been "exposed as a lie."
So what does the above have to do with a McCaniac presidency and the upcoming debate on foreign affairs? George Bush has led us into this shit-storm by refusing to talk it out with our allies, the UN, and/or enemies unless they agree with him and are in lockstep with him. As the Bush Press Secretary told us, if you disagreed with Bush you end up having your wife outed.
Nationally, we will have little more than two sides finding no "middle ground." In times being what they are, can we afford such a presidency? One where "bringing people together" is a pipe dream?
Bush/McCain do not talk to their real or perceived "enemies." Any disagreement will get you on the "enemy list." This includes the press. McCain is now aiming his ICBM's from The View to the NYTimes. Whoopie and Barbara DUCK!!!!
I know that Obama is getting picked on for saying he will "talk to our enemies." Yet, McCain's alternative is a blackout and a "bomb bomb bomb Iraq."
If we have learned one thing during the last 8 years: Ignoring the world, and any perceived enemy, and you will find yourself alone in a shit storm. There can be no doubt, McCain's hostile approach to divergent opinions will sink us even further.
