Over the last three days, a politician used a political ploy to get out of a political debate so he could offer a political solution to a political problem. Meanwhile, as he is making these political maneuvers he is stating that he is doing all of this for country and not politics. What does this mean?
The test is simple.
Do we, the American people, fall for this crap.
So the McCain campaign can't debate because the crisis is to severe. They won't campaign because to campaign during a time of severe crisis is unAmerican. However, the only way to broadcast that you are not campaigning is to campaign. So reluctantly they go forward (because true patriots can do unpatriotic things as long as they do it with disdain) to preach how awful the situation is, how dire it is. And all the while reluctantly announcing every 10 minutes the fact that "John McCain is not campaigning". These announcements are made by handlers, spokespeople, surrogates, party officials, and major media outlets, just so we're clear.
Can you see through the smoke. Can you see the reflection inside the mirror, inside the mirror, inside the mirror. The reluctant hero has bought himself time. Enough time to see which way the wind blows.
CNN reporting that McCain still hasn't told anyone not only his position on the bailout, but what things he would want to see in the bailout, for fears that his ideas may or may not be included because he suggests them.

So what else happened today. Sarah Palin had a press conference today and . . . a what? Sarah Palin actually took 10 minutes deflecting reporters questions. With all the smoke in DC, however, nobody noticed. Score one for the smoke machine. Sarah Palin also was on TV with that great US American, Katie Couric. Palin made a great effort in her first actual interview with someone with a level of journalistic integrity, (My God did I just say that about Katie Couric?) Palin did a wonderful job. She used many nouns and verbs, sometimes in the same sentence. She called people with Passports elitists (we are you know), and managed to keep herself from reaching down to the floor when she dropped her crib sheets. It was only a blip on the radar however, because of the smoke.
Tomorrow comes the debate, and John McCain most likely will not come. Not because it is unpatriotic in this time of crisis, but because he is a coward. I agree with Letterman. He was a hero. He served our country, he did time as a POW, and that time is gone. Now he is a coward. He fears looking like an idiot in a debate that is his strength. He hides behind slogans and jingoism much like the President he hopes to replace. He fears that people will find out that he is now just a guy on the take, who married the rich girl, took the bribes, and after a time of having a belief system, lost it to his all encompassing desire to be President.
This is more than an election, now more than ever. John McCain has sunk lower than even I thought was possible. I now know he is capable of anything. So vote America. On Nov. 4, Vote. The country is crumbling from the inside, not from without. This is your test. Does democracy really work? 232 years. A good run. Is it over? Blue Pill or Red Pill.
Oh, and Now, Its. . .
