I know I am swimming against the tide on Kos, and . . .
I am not in favor of rescuing idiots and crooks, but I also understand this mess is not just about Wall Street. If banks can’t extend credit there are many people who will lose their businesses and lose their jobs.
This "bailout" is not just about big banks and mortgages. What about the small appliance store owner, or the guy at the car dealership, or the local jewelry store, or the local furniture chain? What about the young couple with a baby whose refrigerator just died and they need to buy a new one, but they don’t have the cash?
Many small and medium size businesses count on dealer financing to stay in business. Millions of Americans work for these companies.
And millions of Americans have to rely on financing to buy necessities, like a car they need to get to work, or a new stove because theirs just died
I wish this crisis was as simple as we would like it to be, but I am afraid it is not.
