The Church of the "Blue Yummy".

A long time ago, a friend of mine told me that he couldn't go to church anymore with his wife and children. The local preacher was becoming more and more activist and right wing, and his sermons were becoming a rant against gays, and liberals, and how they would all ruin this country.
So he decided to stay home each sunday, crack open a Busch Light (Locally called a Blue Yummy) and savor his own freedom from Fundie Dogma in his own way. At his own, non-denominational, non-affiliated and non-judgemental "Church of the Blue Yummy".
I too was a member long before I was made aware of it... having had my fill of fundies and Catholic's expounding about how we should all live under their rules. My sundays are celebrated in my house of freedom, not in a Christian house of intolerance, hate and tryanny.
The hate for others they spew, the intrusiveness they seek into everyone elses lives and freedoms drove me way from them long ago.
And now we have Mike Huckabee, the new leader if the Americanized version of the Taliban wanting to Amend the Constitution to support his religious agenda. So... shall we let him take away any possible rights that Gays and Lesbians might get here in America, to be the same as everyone else?
Ah... But the fundies won't stop there... pretty soon they will strip something else out of the constitution, and something else, and something else.. and pretty soon everyone is losing their freedom, and rights we all once took for granted are gone.
And I will keep drinking my Blue Yummies at my altar of freedom, and on every day including sunday, fight these people that would take ANY freedom away in the name of their God... and trample on our country's greatest treasure - our constitution.
Long live the Church of the Blue Yummy....
