Okay, So Now a Grandpa Fred Win in SC Seals the Deal

The Huckster takes Iowa and is the odds on favorite for South Carolina.

McCain takes New Hampshire and runs a disappointing second in Michigan.

And now Willard has won in Michigan throwing this into a three way race

So what does this mean for the other side? Nothing could be more deliciously glorious than a Grandpa Fred win in South Carolina. A four way race would be beautifully chaotic for the Republican party, and would cause so much ill will amongst the ranks of the Republicans that their party may never recover.

So let's all hope Grandpa Fred wins it. He won't win it all, but throwing a wrench into the Huckster's plans to become the frontrunner goes a long way to setting up a 9iu11ani win in Florida which could throw this thing into a five way tie for first!

        Disagreeing with the fact that I like the guy is one thing, TRing it is something completely different.

        Yeah, I like the guy, so what? If one of them ended up being president, I think he'd do the least damage. He's a war hero and at least he doesn't like torture, having been tortured himself. From a policy standpoint, although I agree with him on a few issues, for the most part he's got a despicable standing.

  should certainly be "interesting". ("Interesting" as in the old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times".) I do believe Huckabee has taken himself out of the race with his comments in Warren MI ,

  "[Some of my opponents] do not want to change the Constitution, but I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God,"

         He will capture the Evangelical vote probably winning in SC and other states but any moderates will be distrustful of his ability to correctly interpret the "word of the living god".
       None of the republican candidates will have enough votes for an outright win and they will go into the convention deadlocked allowing the party to select an alternative, Newt Gingrich ?, all just MHO.

    After Romney's win in MI, expect McCain to fall back again in SC. Don't count out Fred in SC. Big question is if Huck can regain momentum there. I guarantee he beats his poll numbers because his supporters are zealots. But it might not be enough. Also, Mitt might make some big gains the next few days. Either way, the numbers you cite are the baseline for post-MI.

  to the Greenville News. They've been trying to sell us all week on the notion that (ignoring FredO's miserable finishes so far in the primary and caucuses, which they simply don't mention) FredO is thrilled by being in 4th place in the polls in SC!
  He drew a huge crowd of 200 to a restaurant yesterday, with other people standing outside looking in!
  He took off his tie!
  He plugged his virility by noting that his 2-year-old and 4-year-old sons will be joining him on the campaign trail today! (And somewhere  Strom Thurmond is smiling! Yes, FredO said that! Go ancient men fathering children with women young enough to be their granddaughter's! What an admirable Republican trait.)

    I just wish the S. Carolinians would wake up and understand that the coming economic problems are not going to be fixed by more of the same.  I wish they would understand that the financial base of the state, manufacturing, was given away by  republicans.  I wish they would look past God, and see what the candidates are really feeding them.  I don't know if it's possible to make them see any of that.
