This is an open thread, dedicated to civility in the primaries.  Please feel free to use it as a repository for any thoughts on candidates, their campaigns, and their supporters.  ANY thoughts.

This will allow us to contain the talentless, vitriolic crap in one place, thereby freeing up diary space for those with actual abilities.

Requests:
   

Don't be a complete asshole.  Vent, but remember that most of us are gonna wind up on the same side.

Don't troll rate anyone for venting, unless they are violating rule # 1.

Don't get defensive when your guy/gal/muppet gets attacked.  That's what this thread is for.

I know it sounds petty but I don't see why these pigs are probably getting $300K/yr once you take their benefits into consideration when they aren't doing their job.

        mainly just in pointing out his opinions on the civil rights movement, women's rights, the Dept. of Education.

        Every one of the folks I've talked to have been appalled by his actual record, when they see it.  I've turned several folks in Kucinich' direction, which is better than Paul, by a long shot.

    that Paul will do better than most people expect in many of the western states, actually. There's a huge libertarian-ish bent out here. He won't win or even come close, but he'll do well.

    I think in the end that he's probably going to be the force to bring down McCain; they're competing for the same "straight talkin' independent" type voters in the western states. But that's just my guess.

        especially toward eastern Oregon, and in some of the smaller towns in the western area.

        I know several Paulites here in the CA central valley,  and have been actually really impressed with their energy, even if I think their candidate is a moron. His surface message plays quite well to a lot of people here, especially in more rural areas.

  Let me add that I finally decided to join DKos because I found intellect, reason, and objectivity in most of the diaries. There are always a few outliers, but I as I look for substance I find (which is still possible) I find much more irrational, unreasonable diaries. Reactionary comments and diaries are the height of ignorance.
  It is the failure of most people to reason, that places us in such compromised positions. It's one reason people can vote against their own interests. They base their decisions on irrational emotive response. I know the Dkos community is better than that. I have seen it. Hold to your roots, remember why you are here, don't overlook the big picture. We may elect democrats, but prepare for the most frustrating battle of your life; Electing officials for change, only to find the status quo.
