'We the People', John Edwards in Fort Dodge, Iowa

Yesterday afternoon John and Elizabeth Edwards and Mari Culver, First Lady of Iowa, spend a portion of their New Years Day with the people of Fort Dodge, Iowa.  

                                   

You can't find a more gracious group of people than those in Iowa.  They are hospitable and kindly answer your questions which you are certain they've already heard a hundred times or more.

                             

Yesterday, with blizzard conditions in the Fort Dodge area, we drove to Fort Dodge to join them on New Year's Day, as well.  The turn out was much greater than expected as we are seeing throughout Iowa and the support was hearty.  When Elizabeth Edwards entered the hall, she brought with her another special treat... Jack and Emma Claire.  They are very well behaved children although Jack looked as if there just 'might' be something that he could think of that he'd rather be doing.  Yet, he sat quietly throughout his mother's speech.  Emma Claire sat, looking attentively straight ahead intend on the mission at hand.

      with both affection and something quite other than affection: it's rare to say "It is very exciting" in Fort Dodge.
