John Edwards: WE must put him in the game
Tue Jan 22, 2008 at 01:15:20 PM PDT
The title of a recommended diary, "The moment that put John Edwards back in the game," seems to conflict with my "out of Kos" experience, especially today. The "easy news" from Google suggests Edwards need not exist. The real news is that Clinton and Obama got personal, renewed their brawl, and took the gloves off.
The great moments diaried by JedReport seem to have no standing in the news cycle of the day.
Where does this state of affairs leave Edwards supporters? What do we do? Continue to diary within koslandia? (yes, I see the irony)? I say "no." This is a TTFN diary. I have work to do, and I am way way behind. If Edwards is to be back in the game, we have to put him there.
I've read a lot of diaries, and I've commented in a few. I've only written one candidate diary (after getting sick of the post-Iowa "Edwards should withdraw" business). And the thing the SallyCat made me realize, yesterday, in her back-from-the-grave diary, is this: reading and commenting in Edwards diaries is not helping Edwards.
So, no more from me about Edwards' message, Edwards' strengths, Edwards' fight, etc. Those of you who don't already know this stuff about Edwards can read lots of great diaries. Just look at the rec list and you'll find them, mixed in with great diaries about Obama and the occasional real-issue-diary (like I used to read).
Here's my to-do list:
(1) Call and email friends. Send them excerpts from the writings of edgery, Ellinorianne, jedreport, grannyhelen, Predictor, TomP, and the other Edwards diarists I've read.
(2) Walk around my neighborhood and talk to neighbors.
(3) Get some signs and bumper stickers (like Predictor).
(4) Send some more long green to www.johnedwards.com ASAP.
Time to sign off. I've got to get to work. I'll probably do some lurking, but I've got more important things to do than generate my inane comments. I've gotta help get some votes for John Edwards.
