Gov Jindal (R-LA) Admits Ethics Violations

Thu Jan 24, 2008 at 10:41:20 PM PDT

Well, well ... the GOP's wunderkind in Louisiana, Governor Bobby Jindal,  is now under investigation by that state's Board of Ethics for failing to report $118,000 in contributions by the Republican Party.

In office for less than a month, Jindal's spokesperson says that the governor will pay a fine from his campaign fund and has amended his reports to reflect the donation.

The kicker?  Not only did Jindal run on a platform of reforming state government, he plans to call a special session of the Louisiana legislature to push his ethics package.  The sweetest irony of all is this little tidbit:

Disclosure is the centerpiece of Jindal's ethics plans, requiring lawmakers and other elected officials to detail how they make their money.

They just can't help themselves, can they?
