Message to Republicans in Office: You are all in BIG trouble.

Sun Jan 27, 2008 at 08:53:28 AM PDT

This is a short diary, but in all the intra-candidate infighting on Daily Kos, this is probably worth a diary:

The turnout numbers in all the states where actual contests have been held so far by both parties, say the Republicans are in big trouble.

State D R R change
IA 239,000 114,000 +
NH 287,000 238,000 -
NV 116,000 44,315 +
SC 530,322 431,000 -

Here is what this says to me:

  1.  If Bush's policies stay the same and Republicans continue to cowtow to him, if things stay the same through the November election, they can expect to be annihilated, even in nominally safe Republican districts.
  1.  If the turnout numbers stay the same, and the mood of the electorate stays the same, there is a very real possibility of a Democratic blowout in November.  A veto-proof majority in the House and the Senate is a real possibility, no matter who the President is.
  1.  Any of the Democratic candidates is electable, merely in terms of party identification.
  1.  Even for states where the Republicans manage to increase turnout, it won't be enough.  The Blue Tide is coming!
