The very weird campaign song choice of Hillary Clinton

Apparently the Hillary Clinton campaign has started using a song by the dutch rockband Golden Earring called "when the lady smiles".
The problem is that they apparently didn't bother looking at all the lyrics of the song and obviously never watched the video that accompanied it.

Apparently the Hillary Clinton campaign has started using a song by the dutch rockband Golden Earring called "when the lady smiles".
You might know The Golden Earring better from their enormous hit in the 70's called "radar love".
Hillary's campaign probably picked "when the lady smiles" because of it's appropriate chorus that says:

When the lady smiles,
I can't resist her call,
As a matter of fact,
I don't resist at all.

The problem is that they didn't bother looking at all the lyrics of the song and obviously never watched the video that accompanied that same song.

"When the lady smiles" was a big hit in Belgium and the Netherlands in 1984, which explains why I know the song well since I'm a Belgian citizen living in the US.

Some of the other lyrics in the song are:

When the lady smiles, you know it drives me wild,
Her lips are warm and resourceful

My friends tell me, she's the beast inside your paradise

The video features the rape of a nun and a dog eating part of the brain of the rapist. Kind of an awkward choice for a campaign song wouldn't you say?

This reminds me of the time Reagan started using Springsteen's "born in the USA" as a campaign song, without realizing that the song was actually a scathing   critique on the US.

You can find the video for "when the lady smiles" on YouTube:

If you need a reminder on the much bigger hit for The Golden Earring called "radar love", you can watch the following:
