      Here's my story. I'm a blue collar union worker from Michigan who has been a supporter of Obama from the beginning. However, I got really ticked and really motivated when the Clintons went nutso in South Carolina. I immediately put a call out to some online Obama groups and held a fundraising planning meeting on Saturday. That group is now ten people and we all decided to set up our own fundraising page on barackobama.com and e-mail all of our friends and relatives asking them to contribute. I set up my page on Sunday and so far people have contributed $250 with most of the donations being in the $25 range. Lots of other people are doing the same thing. So, yes, that 32 million is probably include some big chunks from people with money to give but lots of it is coming from people like me, too. Working class folks who are struggling from paycheck to paycheck but still finding a way to give and to get others to give, too. Feel free to visit my page and help out.

    There is another BIG leap in traffic for Barack Obama's campaign site just after the SC primary and traffic was still sharply rising as of their last tracking day on Jan. 28th.

    Obama's logo is the ONLY political candidate logo I've ever seen that can stand completely alone without the candidate's name and still be perfectly identifiable by itself.  It's a brilliant brand identity, but I think it also speaks to the philosophy of the candidate in that it's not about him but about the movement.  Minor style point for sure, but interesting nonetheless, especially to a graphic designer like myself.

    The average donation is less than $200: these are ordinary Americans kicking in to support real change.

    Obama had over 170,000 new donors.  

    $32,000,000 divided by 170,000 equals about $188 apiece, but the number is obviously even lower because it does not take into account additional donations by existing donors.  The average donor was therefore much lower in all likelihood.

    By contrast, it would take only about 7,000 maxed out ($4,600) super donors to get the same amount.

    This is real grassroots activism people.
