Presidents Day in San Luis Obispo?

The idea is to converge in San Luis Obispo on Presidents Day weekend.  You can read additional details in this previous Diary; California Dreaming Convergence - Presidents Day  - San Luis Obispo

This may become the first get together of Northern AND Southern California Kossacks and progressive bloggers.

Navajo (of SF Kossacks and co-organizer) and I are trying to get a head count. This way we can get some group discounts going for room rates and function rooms.

In any case I will be there on Friday Feb 15 and stay until Feb 18.

  That place is amazing.  Just over ten years ago, the Union Oil company agreed to, and did, dug up the beach, and the first few blocks of the town, removed the oil-soaked (as the result of the company's shoddy handling practices) ground underneath, brought in new dirt and sand, and put the buildings back.  I came by every year to watch the progress, and it was an amazing sight to see.

    Pismo, Avila, Morro Bay, wineries, panoramic views from hills, Hearst Castle.

    I would move to SLO in a heartbeat.

  I will (most probably) be there, but I'll be staying with my parents in Los Osos, so don't include me in the hotel head count.

  I grew up down there (well, just for my high school years, actually, Morro Bay High School - home of the Pirates!) and I agree it is one of the loveliest spots on earth.
