I am so fed up with our elected officials going directly against the wishes of those that elected them that I just quit.
Enough.
I'll worry about my own family. It's obvious that the Dem's I thought might care about them don't, really. Not when it comes right down to it.
They didn't when Alito and Roberts were placed on the Supreme Court, they didn't during the Constitutional battle over FISA and warrantless wiretapping, and they don't now, over a bailout of the very wizards of Wall St. that got us into this mess.
I'm done. Fuck it. I've given up caring about them, as they don't care about me.
Including Obama.
Every time it comes down to something for the masses versus something for an elite group, whether it be telcos or Wall St., we lose.
Every single fucking time. Somebody please tell me where I'm wrong.
A few "quotes" I noted while listening to various news reports and the Senate floor debate today:
Obama: "We've got to pass this. The world will end soon if we don't." In a serious campaign stop yesterday.
Obama, don't just tell me that, tell me fucking WHY? Give me numbers, give me statistics, DON'T JUST FUCKING PLAY THE SAME FUCKING FEAR GAME BUSH HAS FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS!!!
Boxer: "85,000 of 91,000 contacts say NO.
But we don't have a choice--I must vote YES to the BAILOUT."
"Pitiful poor pitiful me for having to vote for this"...Dick Durbin(D)
Judd Gregg(R): "..we might take that note at a 20 to 30 discount....it is very likely that the taxpayers dollars will be recovered..."
The same paper Merrill Lynch just sold at a 78% discount, Judd. Fuck you.
Senator Gordon Smith staffer when I called: "But they know things we don't!"
While, please inform me. I asked, she couldn't. I'm not stupid.
How is giving away a large chunk our our taxpayer dollars to buy one percent of the problem paper going to change things?
All I hear is the sound of one hand clapping.
The only thing that makes me even a little bit happy tonight is Senator Ron Wyden, one of my Senators, voted against this gift to the rich. This link will tell you about the Treasury/Wall St. conference call that tells it like it really is. Not the BS most of our elected reps have piled upon us.
Yeah, just one more letdown from the party I thought might give a fuck. That I've been working for. Giving money, knocking on doors, etc.
But after Alito and Roberts, after FISA, and now this, I know better.
So I'll be spending my time doing something more productive than trying to get just another BS artist elected for the next few weeks.
And my money will go towards my family, not some fucking BS artist.
As much as I hate to admit it, today, once again, they all look the same. Repug or Dem.
It makes me sick.
Just call me BitterBoy for now.
