Um, er, Senator Biden. Before tonight I wasn't all that familiar with you. I knew of your reputation, I had seen in in a couple of debates and that's about it.
But tonight I saw a real human being, and a pretty damn awesome one at that.
May I just say that you have the most incredible smile? I've always believed that a big wide smile denotes a big wide heart. And in your case a very open heart as well.
It's obvious that you care about America, you care about the working class and the nieghborhoods all across America like the one you grew up in. You absorbed your lessons about respect and manners and hard work. I'm proud of you and Barack Obama, and I'm proud to be a democrat.
I was raised by a "Roosevelt Democrat" and you and Barack Obama speak to us and to countless others. I know that you get it. I know that once Obama and Biden are President and Vice President that things will get better, because there's just a huge difference between saying the things you think people want to hear, and speaking the truth unafraid, from your heart. That is something that can't be faked, and no amount of down home idioms can convince me like real passion and commitment and the knowledge and fluency that come from commitment can.
I was just so impressed with you tonight that I wanted to say it, and to share it with this community that is filled with passionate democrats fighting for a change. A place dedicated to a better more democratic world where they put their money where their mouths are.
Come on everybody, say it together now:
YES WE CAN!
