Can I just say that since Rachel Maddow has gotten her own show, I have been waiting for her to have the opportunity to question a representative of John McCain's campaign. I have been waiting for her to grab them by their lying necks and ask them the questions that we can only all dream to ask. And oh boy, did she do that tonight. The normally very slick Nancy Pfotenhauer ventured on the Rachel Maddow show tonight, and tried to get across all of John McCain's talking points in her usual rambling style. Rachel was not having any of it. GO RACHEL!
Rachel serving it to Nancy
I don't have the transcripts to this yet, so for those who can't watch the video, I apologize, but listen carefully when she sets Nancy straight regarding Franklin Raines, McCain's record on Deregulation, and also his connections to Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae.
I understand why McCain hardly sends his representatives to Maddow's show or Countdown, they are by definition more liberal. But hell, if Obama could take on O'Reilly, surely McCain can take on Olbermann or Maddow. After all, this is the guy that the Republicans want to send on a face-off with Putin...right? Better yet, get Palin out there. Since she hates the media filter, just do a live show. I'm sure that either Matthews, Olbermann, or Maddow will oblige her with an hour's worth of unedited coverage. No? How can the McPalin ticket ever ask us as voters to take them serious, when they can only deliver the words, phrases and sometimes even complete sentences, but can't meet with the horrible "liberal" media? Do they think somehow that Putin will be kinder than the media? Is that how it works now?
For your viewing displeasure, I also wanted to include the McCain "HEHHHHH" Tape
Yuck
But I will send you off with more of Rachel Maddow, again doing what we love most about her, calling the McCain campaign on their ever massive pile of bullshit.
Looky
Update:
Thanks for the recommend! I understand that some didn't think this was the smackdown that I perceived. I hope then in the future, as Maddow obtains even more opportunities to interview McCain's representatives, she becomes more assertive. For the first time though, I think she did pretty well by golly!
For those who wanted a bit more fire...enter Chris Matthews from two weeks ago.
