on bailout agreement
Bad on so many levels: not even funny, weak impressions, eg Armisen's of Frank, missing Barney's Boston accent, rapid delivery, and wit...
At a time when markets gone wild, enabled by deregulation and "greed is good" values are so discredited that even GOP wingnuts are talking like populists, SNL gives us textbook victim blaming, pure right wing narrative, spiced with racism.
They managed to blame the financial crisis on Democrats, poor good-for-nothing home buyers who took balloon loans, greedy Wall Street speculators with Jewish names, and George Soros.
A lot of this narrative was debunked by Emma Coleman Jordan on Moyers Journal the night before.
No mention of deregulation, leverage, Gramm, or Bush appointees Cox and Paulson - let alone market fundamentalist ideology.
They even portrayed Pelosi as less truthful than Bush.
UGH!
Sorry, I don't do video embeds or links - anyone who can, would be very welcome.
