What do all four of these have in common?
There really are two answers to this.
First, there really isn't much wrong with any of them.
McCain served his country honorably by all accounts. He may be a bit flippant with his comments at times, but seems pretty grandfatherly all around. He does have a record of going against his party in important issues especially related to energy policy and treatment of war prisoners. His wife certainly isn't bad looking. That's gotta count for something no?
Obama seems like a nice enough guy. He presents some interesting ideas. He's most definitely a breath of fresh air in what has been a painful 6 and a half years. He might actually be just different enough to change the perception of America abroad.
The Yankees pretty consistently put a quality team on the field ( even this season although they fell short ). Jeter may have a little arrogance about him but he doesn't bother anyone. Giambi seemed honestly contrite about his cheating. Bobby Abreu always seems quick with a smile and a joke. Can't really complain about the Yankees.
Indie Rock is just plain fun sometimes. Very often catchy tunes, not too hard, not too soft. Generally cheerful young kids making a living doing what they love. Who can complain about that.
What else do they have in common? The fact that their fans can just be plain annoying. So much so that it really makes me hate them all :)
