There I go again, gosh darnit, bringing up the past.
Nevertheless, judging from many of the diaries over the last 4 days, DKos could use a little inspiration from the past.
January 3, 2008
Its easy to get mired in the negativity of the current presidential campaign.
Its easy to fall prey to the desire for more punches, counter-punches, and 'BREAKING' revelations about the sordid acts of McCain and Palin and their radical followers.
Its also easy to forget how Barack Obama got here.
Remembering Iowa is about remembering how Barack Obama got here. His victory speech is perhaps even more relevant now than it was in early January. Remember Iowa is about chilling out...because he's got this.
But its also about remembering how WE became part of a movement. Not just a campaign, a movement. We did it through:
Knocking on Doors
Calling our Neighbors
Volunteering for Obama
And Donating, a few dollars at a time
This diary is meant to remind all of you that we still have 28 days to go. McCain and Palin are moving desparately and dangerously in the direction of racists rants and neoconservative fear politics. Its time to say ENOUGH.
"We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics. They will only grow louder and more dissonant. We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope." Barack Obama
28 Days to go. What will you do today?
