Just read this on the Huffington Post: Priceless!
On Wednesday morning, John McCain's campaign released a list of 100 former ambassadors endorsing the GOP presidential nominee.
Second on the list, though her name is misspelled, is Leonore Annenberg, currently the president and chairman of the Annenberg Foundation and widow of ambassador and philanthropist Walter Annenberg. Ms. Annenberg was herself the "chief of protocol" at the State Department under President Reagan.
If the last name sounds familiar, it's because it also graces the name of the Chicago education board where Barack Obama and William Ayers sat in the room six times together.
I guess it's wrong for Obama to serve on Annenberg's charitable board because William Ayers also happened to be a member...
But it's perfectly fine for McCain to TOUT that Annenberg (who had William Ayers as a board member!) is a "ambassador" ????
Figures.
While I have your attention, I also want to say that to me the most important part of last night was NOT the actual debate. It was what happened AFTER the debate.
Sure, McCain's folks are touting his "touching moment" where he patted the chief petty officer on the back and shook his hand. They say it shows he cares and is personable.
But when the cameras were no longer rolling and his gestures weren't being displayed on every national television channel, McCain was nowhere to be found. He left within 2-3 minutes of the debate, whereas the Obamas stuck around for at least 20 minutes taking pictures.
I bet Obama shook every hand in that town hall last night! Here are some great pics! (If someone could find a screenshot of Obama talking to the vet for quite some time, that'd rock! I saw it on Cspan afterwards)
McCain didn't care about interacting with the voters or shaking hands when there was no debate points to score from it!
(You can see the vet to the right peeking through)
