My Non-Scientific Political Profiling Polling by bumper sticker.
I live in district CA-02. It’s heavily republican, but in my town of Chico, home to Chico State University, there’s a fair amount of progressives. For years, the only bumper sticker I had on my car was a google bumper sticker. Buy the way, I put it on years ago, before google was cool. and WAY before they became uncool.
So as this election approached, I took off my (formerly) cool bumper sticker and affixed my Obama sticker. Recently though, I’ve begun noticing the McCain/Palin stickers.
In the last 2 days, this is what I have seen:
I saw a newer lifted blue Chevy with a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on it.
It also had a 2nd amendment sticker, something about having guns is freedom and America is freedom. It also had a Marine Corps emblem on it. But hey, I’m a former marine myself. Desert Storm, thank you. The person driving was a young man in his early 20’s.
I also saw a new Chrysler 4 door sedan. There was a woman in her sixties or seventies with what I’m assuming was her husband in the passenger seat. The only sticker they had on their car was a McCain/Palin.
Lastly, on my way to work today, in moderate traffic, a white sedan passed me on my right and then cut in front of me. I learned that just because you have an Obama/Biden sticker on your car, does not automatically make you a good driver.
What I’m going to do for the next few weeks is this:
I’m going to add all my experiences with political bumper stickers, including as much detail as possible, while still maintaining a vigilant attention to driving.
Please feel free to add your own experiences. Perhaps we could try another Non-Scientific political profiling poll of houses with signs in front of them.
