Cindy Lou Hensley McCain angrily attacked Barack Obama for not supporting the troops in Iraq and her son.
My son is currently in the military, has been for 10 years. Therefore I have the right to tell Cindy Lou that I am outraged John Sidney McCain III has continued to put hundreds of thousands of troops in harm’s way and his voting actions along with George W Bush are directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans and tens of thousands of deaths of Iraqis and coalition solders.
I am outraged John McCain urged George W Bush to veto an Iraq funding bill simply because it contained a non-binding clause to withdraw U.S. Troops.
I am outraged John McCain dares to keep our troops in Iraq indefinitely.
I am outraged John McCain voted against body armor for our troops.
I am outraged this 'elite' woman does not state Barack Obama cast at least 10 votes for war-funding bills before he voted against the funding bill because it did not contain a timeline. After George, urged by his butt sniffing lapdog McCain, vetoed that particular bill a new bill without the timeline was submitted and McCain did not even show up to vote.
Americans are not stupid. We know the difference between funding a war and supporting our troops and they are not necessarily the same. The statements and insinuations by former beauty queens Cindy and Sarah and their pimp John are cheap, nasty tricks.
Within four months of being sworn in as a U.S. Senator, Obama began a string of votes in favor of war-funding bills. Here are Obama's votes in favor of war funding bills, 10 votes on five separate measures.
- Obama voted for Senate passage (Vote 109, April 21) of an emergency supplemental appropriations bill, which passed 99 to 0. He also voted for the final House-Senate compromise version of the same legislation (Vote 117, May 10), which passed 100 to 0.
Later that year additional war funds were contained in the regular Pentagon appropriations bill. Obama voted for the Senate version (Vote 254, Oct. 7), which passed 97 to 0 and also for the final compromise (Vote 366, Dec. 21), which passed 93 to 0.
- Obama supported another emergency supplemental appropriations bill, which included war funding and much else, voting for a cloture motion to end debate and schedule a vote (Vote 103, May 2). The measure passed 92 to 4, with four Democrats opposed for reasons other than war funding. He then voted for Senate passage (Vote 112, May 4). The bill was approved by a vote of 77 to 21, with only Republican opposed, and finally, Obama voted for the final House-Senate compromise version (Vote 117, June 15), which passed 98 to 1, with a single Republican voting against it.
Later in 2006, Obama supported the regular Pentagon appropriations bill, which included $50 billion in "contingency funding", intended for the first six months of war funding. He voted for Senate passage of that bill (Vote 239, Sept. 7), which passed 98 to 0, and also for the House-Senate compromise version (Vote 261, Sept. 29) which passed 100 to 0.
- Obama's final vote for troop funding (Vote 147, April 26) was for an emergency supplemental appropriation that also included a call for withdrawal from Iraq. Obama issued a news release at the time, saying: "We must fund our troops. But we owe them something more. ... With my vote today, I am saying to the President that enough is enough." The measure passed 51 to 46 and was vetoed.
John McCain has a dismal record on supporting our fine United States Military men and women. Here are John McCain’s voting records on Veterans:
- McCain voted against more money for military and veteran’s hospitals
- McCain voted against a Senate amendment providing $19 billion for these facilities (would be paid for by eliminating tax cuts for highest income Americans)
(Senate Roll Call, Vote 7,2/2/06 see http://www.democrats.org/... & http://www.senate.gov/...
- Sen. Jim Webb asked John McCain to support and co-sign his GI Bill which would improve education benefits to Iraq & Afghanistan veterans (March 2008) McCain refused to support the bill, as did George Bush, stating "the new benefits may prompt active members of the military to leave for civilian lift." http://thehill.com/...
- The American Legion states "he [McCain] is dead wrong voting against the GI Bill" http://www.latimes.com/...
- McCain missed voting in Congress 14 times in 2008 on the Iraq war bills http://thehill.com/...
- McCain voted against setting minimum deployment periods for U.S. solders serving in Iraq & Afghanistan (Sep 19, 2007 http://senate.gov/...
- McCain voted against $20 million for the Dept of Veterans Affairs for Medical Facilities in May 2006. (http://www.senate.gov/...)
- McCain voted against $1.5 million increase for funding for Veterans medical services funding March 2006 (to be paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes http://www.senate.gov/...
- McCain is a liar on his military service! "McCain: ‘I received the Highest Award from Literally Every Veterans Organization in America." The truth is McCain has received failing grades from several Veterans’ organizations:
Iraq & Afghanistan – Veterans of America gave McCain a grad of "D" for his record of voting against veterans. (Obama got a B+)
Disabled Veterans of America noted McCain’s dismal 20% voting record on veteran’s issues (Obama had 80%)
In a list of ‘Key Votes’ Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) notes McCain "Voted against us 15 times" and "Voted for us only 8." (Obama voted for us 12 times, 1 against - thinkprogress.org
McCain opposed the 21st Century GI Bill and voted against increased funding for veterans’ health care in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. (ABCNews.com, 5/26/08; S.Amdt. 2745 to S.Con.Res. 95, Vote 40, 3/10/2004; S.Amdt. 149 to S.Con.Res. 18, Vote 55, 3/16/2005; S.Amdt. 3007 to S.Con.Res. 83, Vote 41, 3/14/2006; H.R. 1591, Vote 126, 3/29/2007)
This is what Cindy Lou and John obviously support:
Iraq Casualty Count
US Military Deaths 4,180
US Military Wounded 30,634
Coalition Deaths 4,494
Iraqi War Deaths: 1,033,000
Current cost of Iraq War and Nation Building $560,818,997,305
McCain is a war monger, his rich 54 yo trophy wife is now the new QUEEN OF MEAN!
