Another day another, day of hate speech from the McCain camp. Apparently their supporters have added the catchphrase "Off with his head!" to the repertoire of "political discourse."
The media, aside from Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddowand Huffington Post don't seem to think death threats against Obama, and the tacit, approving silence of the McCain campaign is a story.
So, how about hitting the venues they're speaking at? Do the corporations that pay so very much to hang their names on these theaters, arenas and public spaces really want to align themselves with these sorts of people?
Many universities are allowing their facilities to be used for these events. Do they want to sully their reputations by hosting these festivals of ignorance and intolerance?
Let's let them know that's not OK.
These are not acceptable political campaign tactics in 2008. It's time to stand up and let the hosts know, as Americans, we object. The Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, unarguably. But there is no Constitutional guarantee of venue or platform.
Can we not find a schedule of McCain campaign's event venue and target those venues? Send those venues a message: they should insist that if the McCain/Palin campaign will not disciple their supporters, they should not be welcome in their venues.
Let's let them know. Where do they speak tomorrow? Friday? Saturday? Sunday? BarbinMD, you seem to have the inside track.
