This weekend I'm taking a motorcycle tour of Missouri (mostly the southern "Miz-ür-ah" part of the state) and I'll be doing some campaigning for Obama.
My 1976 BMW R60/6 has a big Obama magnet on the gas tank and an Obama/Biden sticker on the back. I plan on leaving some leaflets at our stops and talking to people as we go through the state.
I'm also going to bring a camera and will be journaling. My plan is to document the battleground state from the heart of what is considered the McCain stronghold.
Missouri is supposedly turning a corner. I want to see if what I see matches polling and if there is some hidden Obama support or animus.
But mostly I want to be able to answer people's questions about Senator Obama, talk to them about why I support him, and try to show why he'd be good for our state and our country.
My question is, what do you all want to know about this "battleground" and bellweather state?
What questions do you have?
What suggestions do you have for me to talk about to people here? What kind of information do you find people in the rural areas are most confused about?
I'd like to stay off the terrorist stuff, unless it's directly questioned.
I want to focus on the economy, taxes, the fact that people will get a tax decrease with the Obama/Biden plan. etc.
