Even if we get a weak Democratic nominee, the Illinois Republicans are so incredibly creative, they appear willing to nominate a man named Ryan again. Governor George Ryan is accused of numerous crimes and ethical violations, and in 2002, Jim Ryan ran to replace him. Democrats won easily. Now, Jack Ryan is running for the Republican Seante nomination. Interestingly, Jack Ryan's campaign signs say "JACK" really big and "Ryan" really small and vertical. Obviously, the campaign wants to divert voters attention away from the name Ryan. Maybe Ryan's campaign theme should "JUST JACK--2004."
If Blair Hull gets the Democratic nomination, and the domestic violence charges are proven to a degree of certainty (which they might be already), should we break the CW and vote for a third party candidate for moral reasons? I don't think I could vote for Hull--even if it means one more Republican vote in the Senate.
