"Terrorist." "Traitor." "Kill Him." "Bomb Obama."
That's what you're hearing from McCain rallies in the last week and a half.
McCain, alongside with his mental defective running-mate Palin both have ignited something incredibly horrendous. It is the absolute hatred and racism that, not surprisingly, was in their hearts all along. The voters who have no rational reason to not vote for Obama, but instead say "I'm not voting for no n---er." Ah, that's the stuff.
Edit: I understand some people's distaste for the previous title, but as someone noted, its a slap in the face to the McCain camp.
The rallies have all become a meeting place for the unintelligent and racist where they can be not only accepted but enabled (and if they're lucky winked at as well.) If John McCain were the leader he claims he is, he would lead his supporters to a) calm down with the angry rhetoric, b) tell them race should not matter, c) propose mortgage and economic plans that aren't slammed by the right and the left... but I guess he's just ruffling those feathers again, doggonit!
No, but in the last week and a half you have a 72 year old man question "Who's the real Barack Obama?" Fuck that, who's the real Sarah Palin? We just met her 5 weeks ago and we still don't know why she supported the the secessionist Alaskan Independence Party, or why she's stalling Troopergate or why she makes people pay for Rape Kits. Or how she could still support abstinence only programs, when her own 17 year old daughter is now pregnant? What about her unweilding stance on abortions in the case of rape or incest?
You have a man essentially calling for and baiting the assassination of not just a presidential candidate, but a young man with a wife and two young daughters, and the history-making first Biracial/Black candidate of a major political party. And his opponent is pulling those who would support such desires along without a word of clarity or truth or substance.
William Ayers, really? The man who's been wholly accepted into Chicago public life? The man who served on some SCHOOL REFORM board with Barack, and dozens of others (Republicans and Democrats). Ayers never hosted anything for Obama, he hosted an event for Alice Palmer. Palmer invited Obama to the event. The guy who did all these bad things when Obama was 8. Want to know what I was doing when I was 8? Not paying attention to dudes who were radicalz (z is for emphasis and coolness). When I was 8, I watched the Chicago Bulls and WWF. But hey, maybe one day I can meet a terrorist and become a terrorist sympathizer too. To say Barack has poor judgement on this matter is to say everyone else in Chicago and anyone else on that board (who mind you are some of Ronald Reagan's disciples) have poor judgment. And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't McCain's mortgage buy out plan far more socialist than many of Obama's plans?
But if we want to talk about poor judgment, let's talk about Palin, or Iraq, or Katrina, or McCain's decision to suspend his campaign to work on a bailout plan he took credit for but then it failed. Or Keating 5? At least that's relevant and substantive. Or how about Phil Gramm? No, but you'd rather talk about Tony Rezko or Reverend Wright, because I mean they really have any control of policy.
John McCain is running a blatantly racist campaign. There's very little subtle about it. Linking a man's full name Barack Hussein Obama to the "terrorist William Ayers" at the same time you're allowing 527's to lie about his tax plan (as you are too) and his stances on mostly everything. Who's the real Barack Obama? The guy has been running for president for 20 months.
He's been in the spotlight for 4 years. If anyone doesn't know who he is, it's because someone doesn't want to get to know who he is. If John McCain does not keep his folks in check, this will get ugly and violent fast.

"Oh, I think it's pretty clear (who Jon's voting for). Neither of them is perfect, but if you, out of nowhere, are going to grab a woman out of the woods and make her your vice presidential candidate, what can I do? Palin is like Jodie Foster in the movie 'Nell,' They just found her, and she was speaking her own special language...Have you noticed how [Palin's] rallies have begun to take on the characteristics of the last days of the Weimar Republic? In Florida, she asked 'Who is Barack Obama?' Hey, lady, we just met YOU five fucking weeks ago."
- Jon Stewart (Has had McCain on the show 7-8 times)
"He is not the McCain I endorsed," said Milliken, reached at his Traverse City home Thursday. "He keeps saying, 'Who is Barack Obama?' I would ask the question, 'Who is John McCain?' because his campaign has become rather disappointing to me.
-William Milliken (R-MI Former Gov)
"The reports are piling up of ugliness at the campaign rallies of John McCain and Sarah Palin. Audience members hurl insults and racial epithets, call out "Kill Him!" and "Off With His Head," and yell "treason" when Senator Obama's name is mentioned. I strongly condemn language like this which can only be described as hate-filled."
-John Kerry
"People need to understand, for moral reasons and the protection of our civil society, the differences with Senator Obama are ideological, based on clear differences on policy and a lack of experience compared to Senator McCain. And from a purely practical political vantage point, please find me a swing voter, an undecided independent, or a torn female voter that finds an angry mob mentality attractive."
-John Weaver (Former McCain Strategist)
"[Terrorist, Traitor] Certainly don't reflect the character of [Obama]."
-Ray LaHood (R-IL)
"Yes. There is this -- I think one of the most striking things we've seen now in the last few days. We've seen it in the Palin rallies. We saw it at the McCain rally today. And we saw it to a considerable degree during the rescue package legislation. There is this free floating sort of whipping around anger that could really lead to some violence. I think we're not far from that."
