In an appearance with David Gergen on Anderson Cooper's show last night, Ed Rollins said that the election is over, and it is up to McCain to change his tactic and to start taking about issues and keep this from becoming a landslide.
Ed Rollins on Anderson Cooper
Anderson Cooper asks: Do you believe this race is over?
Rollins: I'm going to vote for McCain, but the momentum is going all the other way and you cannot stop the momentum is going all the other way and equally important is the economy. Today they don't care about Ayers. Obama has met the threshold, to be a leader and has tied McCain to the past and to Bush. This is going to turn into a landslide.....
The other fundamantal question is how you want to end your career. We could use 10 Senate seats and 25 house seats. The floor is dropping. He needs to help his party. He needs to give a strong message on the economy....
The truth of the matter is that if he brings this party down, forever his legacy is that he will be the one who lost 10 or twelve senate seats and will give Barack everything he needs.....
Couldn't have said it better myself.
