Palin adds a bit of spice and a ton of malice to the presidental race. She's well on her way to becoming Ann Coulter
TRUTH BE TOLD: McCain's choice of vivacious former beauty queen,Sarah Palin has all to do with the elements of Sexual Politics.
UPDATE:
Is this a better picture of the gal Rush calls "our babe"?
The original lampooning PALIN PLAYBOY COVER is now a web address should you choose to go there:

Behind the "surprise" pick of Sarah was the powerful influence of the Council for National Policy. (Who's a member? What do they say about themselves?)
http://www.publiceye.org/... )
This secretive group includes James Dobson and ilk whose main thrust in American politics is all about sex and authoritarian control of sexual behavior by means of the police powers of the government.
Sarah is simply the poster girl in the desperate effort to shore up McCain's victory and the moral-rightists hopes of picking the next 3 or more Supreme Court seats.
Why has George W. Bush been enabled stay in power and conduct failed policies and unprovoked war? Answer: Because his has an ardent and activist base of morals-conservatives: Catholic, Pentecostal, Fundamentalist, and Evangelicals. THEIR MAIN TOPIC OF CONCERN: SEX AND SEXUAL PROHIBITON
Bush has been made bullet-proof (Morton Montgomery's Diary: Bulletproofing "Born-Again" Politicians, http://www.streetprophets.com/... by the claim that criticism of his actions and polices is persecution of him personally because of his Christian profession and subscription to a rigid Pro-Life agenda. The greater the criticism of Bush the stronger this base is driven to his support and defense. The same bullet-proofing is designed to protect Palin, no matter what disaster her untoward remarks dust up.
All of this delights and undergirds those other elements, such as the NeoCons and corrupt corporate interests, which have much to gain from the Bush administration’s unraveling policies and it's replacement with McCain
redux.
Peel the onion and discover the basis of the strong-morals conservatives unflappable support: Fundamentalistic sexual ideology and Puritanism.
It’s all about sex stupid.
The situation is perhaps best captured by Makani Themba-Nixon, in her article , Between Black and Right, http://www.alternet.org/...
"By the 2004 election, the Bush machine was able to supplant traditional economic issues and even an unpopular war with 'sexual politics' in order to consolidate support among regular voters in the church. It was a watershed moment for black churches nationwide. Which way would they choose? The politics of their survival – like education, jobs, housing? Or the politics of 'sexual morality'?"
Themba-Nixon’s right, the religious far right’s primary coalition is grounded in sex--how sex is treated and governed in our society. They pontificate on how government permits sexual practices and procedures which are anathema to their powerful block of partisan voters and opinion makers.
The Christian Coalition and ilk seem to believe they have a right to brand "Christian" only those traits of which they approve, thus condemning mainline Christians with differing views. This is the basis of the newly revved up cultural wars. During the GOP National Convention in Houston, 1992, Pat Buchanan introduced to the nation cultural and religious war. Within days he had written an extended version, @ http://www.buchanan.org/... stating "...we Americans are locked in a cultural war for the soul of our country" responding to Mario Cuomo’s critique of Buchanan’s Houston Convention speech. The media picked up on the cultural aspect of his tirade, but went silent on the equally damaging religious aspect Buchanan interjected into national politics.
Sex was part of the angst in Buchanan’s speech. Ideologues were still fuming in aftermath of the then recent and very nasty reactions against feminists and the ERA.
In a genius move, the assemblage of Jerry Falwell’s minions and those of the strict conservative Roman Catholic theologians and policymakers around opposition to all abortions created the so-called "Right to Life" coalition that has become the "Right to Run Your Private Sex Life." This is the powerbase that involves in and determines the outcome of many national and local elections and legislative policies around the nation. Those tiny fetal feet on Falwell’s lapel became a compelling symbol—the political glue which has bonded a very unlikely coalition of conservative Catholics and Fundamentalistic Christians who had been bitter enemies previously.
National Right to Life has expanded its sexual agenda going far beyond the banning of legal abortions. This power brokerage has many other sex-based axioms and prohibitions which it intends to put into law using the police power of the state to enforce.
Without these far right religionists and die-hard Christian conservatives' unstinting support of George W. Bush, he would currently be but an embarrassing footnote in history.
The supremacy of sexual politics has reached a frenzied level of media and political preoccupation. Is America electing a leadership team for a time of crisis, or trading gossip and innuendo about celebrities; all the while allowing thinly veiled codewording to convey a totally unacceptable message skillfully to radicalize the electorate delivered by the far-right's star "looker" Sarah Palin?
Sexual matters stir deep and explosive emotions. Coinciding with sexual prohibitions reinvigorated during an extraordinary time in the rise of corollary religious fundamentalism in the Islamic world, we in America need to be more circumspect in our cultural warring. We clearly live in a period of violent and theological backlash against sexual freedoms and behaviors revolting against our current setting--today’s modernity.
Enter Sarah Palin, poster girl for the strict-morals right wing. A little known, but all powerful, religio-capitalist cabal called the Council for National Policy is at the power source which demanded and got Sarah Palin on the McCain ticket.
McCain’s controversial choice--made ahead of and in spite of superb choices he may have made--qualified individuals, with the proven education and records outfitting them to become vice president and assume the office, if circumstances so order. Well-suited pospects where broomed aside for the sake of radical religious ideology and sex appeal.
Dobson/Focus on the Family operative Tom Minnery...described the mood as CNP members watched Palin accept her selection as John McCain’s Vice Presidential pick.
"I was standing in the back of a ballroom filled with largely Republicans who were hoping against hope that something would put excitement back into this campaign," Minnery said. "And I have to tell you, that speech by Alaska Governor Sarah Palin — people were on their seats applauding, cheering, yelling... That room in Minneapolis watching on the television screen was electrified. I have not seen anything like it in a long time," http://www.thenation.com/... The Nation Magazine.
"Minnery added that his boss, Dobson, has yearned for a conservative female leader like Margaret Thatcher to emerge on the American scene. And while Palin is no Thatcher, ‘she has not rejected the feminine side of who she is, so for that reason, she will be attractive to conservative voters.’"
Palin is elevated as the propertied queen—royal example--of far right sexual policy and family values, catapulted to national prominence by her appointment to the McCain ticket. Sarah is acclaimed by the "echo chambers" to be a model for the sexual re-ordering of America. Placed astutely and deliberately in the clear order of ascendancy to the high office of President of the United States and the leadership of the free world. The Christian Coalition made a daring and wreckless move.
Dobson and Palin’s radical religionist backers are ecstatic for good reason, their goal is control over the upcoming appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court. But first they have to get McCain elected, for that purpose alone Palin is put in play.
Keep in mind, it’s all about sex, the courts, and authoritarian control of the same.
