This is my first diary so I will keep it brief and uncomplicated.
We are trying to encourage others to boycott the upcoming SNL featuring Sarah Palin. The reasoning is after the break.
First of all I do believe that everyone should have a voice and that both sides of the political debate should be recognized. I obviously believe in free speech and agree networks and programs have the right to have whomever they chose as a guest on their shows.
I also believe that as a citizen I have the right and responsibility to express my views and concerns. I may not have much of a vehicle to do this but I can refuse to participate.
Thus, my husband and I have made a personal decision to boycott the upcoming Saturday Night Live episode that will feature Sarah Palin and I strongly plea with others to do the same.
My husband and I have become completely revolted over the recent "hate speech" that has been spewing from the McCain/Palin campaign. We believe that it is irresponsible, dangerous, and completely inappropriate for this time in our culture (2008).
Therefore, we have decided to boycott the program(s) that give Sarah Palin or John McCain for that matter, a platform to promote their fear mongering, hate inciting messages until there is an obvious "cease and desist" from the candidates on this method of campaigning and an attempt to reverse the harm that has been done.
I am sadly disappointed in SNL for asking her to come on the show. I think it condones her recent behavior which is inexcusable!
That’s all.
