True story, courtesy of my wife.
My wife is a psychiatric social worker at a state psychiatric hospital in one of the pretty close swing states. On Friday, she was sitting in on a preliminary assessment of a woman who had been admitted for signs of depression. One of the standard questions that is used to establish an initial baseline is "Who is the current President of the United States?"
The shrink conducting the assessment changed it up a little and asked the patient, "Who are the main candidates running for president?"
The patient answered "McCain and Obama".
The shrink then asked the patient who she was voting for and she happily volunteered that she was voting for Obama.
My wife immediately announced "She's sane", and they all shared a good laugh.
I'm hoping the patient gets out in time to vote.
