Team Debbie is happy to present Mayor Debbie Cook's latest ad, hitting Dana Rohrabacher on the airwaves tomorrow:
A little over a month ago, the Costa Mesa Daily Pilot wrote, "Rohrabacher does not plan on running commercials of his own, using mailers, signs and the recognition he has from his years in office as campaigning tools instead. Still, he says he might change strategies if necessary and go into "emergency mode" if he thinks it's necessary, he said."
He's in emergency mode now. Why? Because he finally ran a poll two weeks ago, and found out what we've known for months - his extreme positions are dramatically out of touch with the voters in his district this year. Debbie Cook's gaining on him.
Debbie Cook's ads have been up on the air for weeks now on local cable stations, hitting as many as 15 cable channels in most of the district, with professional commercials that resonate with the values of the voters in this district.
We're expanding our media buy this week, and going up with this ad that we feel hits at the core of Rohrabacher's irrelevance.
With Obama pulling ahead in the polls, and other competitive Congressional races moving towards a Democratic tsunami, we can win another race here in California.
The New York Times wrote last week: "The economic upheaval is threatening to topple Republican Congressional candidates, putting more Senate and House seats within Democratic reach less than a month before the elections, lawmakers and campaign strategists say."
This week, a staffer from Progressive Democrats of America is coming to work for us and PDA and the California Nurses Association are planning a big get-out-the-vote effort for Debbie. Jim Dean of DFA will be hosting a fundraiser this weekend.
We are exceeding expectations here in southern California and fully expect Debbie to pull off the biggest upset in this election cycle.
