Kudos for Jed Lewison over at jedreport.com for bringing McCain's latest, most pathetic attempt to excuse the behaviour that he has stoked at his rallies. Apparently, the same happens at Obama rallies too.
The man is just a pathological liar. Here's video, from a CNN interview with Dana Bash. (And by the way, Bash gets serious minus points for not challenging McCain on his lie.)

My friends, you can't make this up.
I hope this lie is the one that finally destroys his public image. It's so brazen, and so pathetic, that he can't get away with this and still have any credibility left.
I don't think I've seen a single report of outrageous language from an Obama supporter at an Obama rally, much less shouted out and caught on microphone like has constantly happened recently at the McCain rallies.
How he can sit there and try the old "him too" excuse.
Reap what you sow, old timer, because you've sown some pretty rotten stuff lately.
EDIT: The reason I think this will blow up in his face is this is not a criticism of Obama, but of the public. Criticizing the public is something most candidates go to great lengths to avoid (note the careful treading around how much blames lies at the feet of the borrowers who are part of the subprime mess). In fact, the McCain campaign is highly aware of this - note how quickly they tried (and failed) to jump on Obama when he responded (very well IMHO) to the initial outbursts of hate at these rallies by saying it was time to lead and unite rather than divide the American people. Which, of course, makes this comment all the more perplexing.
EDIT2: For added entertainment, another Jed special:
McCain-Bailin' 08, it's the hip thing to do for Republicans everywhere!
