Every day for the past nine months I have hit the internet hard with the hopes of gathering information about Obama's probable victories and possible triumphs in the primary and presidential elections.
I have been working the numbers over and over on a daily basis and checking the trends, reading most relevant pundits and, of course, commenting and diarying at DKOS.
An interesting thing has happened in the past week. This thing has gotten out of reach for McCain. He cannot fabricate his way to a victory. There is nothing there for him.
Granted, McCain has a lock on Alabama and Alaska, but that's not gonna get it done.
Each day over the past week this thing has been slipping away from McCain. He has been unable to gain traction on the level of media narrative, strategy, polling, or subterfuge.
We now see Republicans jumping ship or just sitting on their hands. Pundits are sharpening their knives. The only question left is HOW BAD will this defeat be on NOV 4. How HARD are McCain and the Republican party going to crash.
I usually try to comment or diary in a way that pumps up the Democratic troops. Now I am thinking, "Why bother?" As long as we keep doing what we are doing, this thing is painfully over.
It's over.
