"The day that Senator Obama decided to cast a vote to not fund my son while he was serving sent a cold chill through my body, let me tell you,’’ Mrs. McCain said, in an introduction before Mr. McCain and Ms. Palin delivered speeches at Lehigh. "I would suggest that Senator Obama change shoes with me for just one day.’’ Mrs. McCain was referring to a vote against troop financing that Mr.Obama cast in 2007 because the legislation did not include a timetable for withdrawal; Mr. Obama has voted for all other war-spending bills since he entered the Senate in 2005.

That's what Cindy McCain said at a campaign rally a week ago, causing the partisan crowd present to boo Senator Obama, and chant in mocking derision. The article goes on further, "she made a departure from her normally mild public remarks and sharply told a crowd at a Lehigh University athletic arena that Mr. Obama did not understand what it meant to have had a son who served in Iraq, as she had".
Seems Mrs. McCain needs to brush up on her husband's legislative voting record first before she accuses anyone else of "not supporting the troops". And the last time I looked, anyone who paid taxes, paid for Bush's war-and is still paying for it on the Bank of China Credit Card used for Bush's 5 "emergency" supplementals for Iraq.
And we won't even talk about the US soldiers who might still be alive or returned home in one piece today had they had the right body armor, or the "no bid" contracts doled-out to Cheney's pals, or the missing billions, or the over 1.4 million permanently gone "missing" Iraqi men, women, and children, Bush murdered in our names. Or the towns and cities Bush razed to the ground, sending over 4 million Iraqis fleeing their homes, thus creating a humanitarian nightmare.
Maybe, Mrs. McCain should learn to do a little research, temper her remarks and tone down her rhetoric before sticking her foot in her mouth. Senator McCain voted twice to "table"-or aka, to KILL two amendments to bills that would've given our troops the badly-needed body armor that then SecDef Rummy remarked at the onset of the Iraq war, "you go to war with the army you have, not the one you wish you had". Seems like McCain agreed with Rummy.

Seems like Senator John McCain has some explaining to do to his wife, to the families who lost loved ones-or returned home permanently disfigured or disabled over his votes, and to the American people why we should elect a man to the presidency who, like Bush, Cheney, Rummy, and the rest of the neocons, just can't seem to get it.
