Apologies for the repeat, diaried earlier here and here.
Its becoming more and more apparent that man at the top of the ticket has little to do with his campaign these days. Palin supporters are ignoring calls to tone down the vitriol, despite not too subtle hints from prominent swing state Republicans in Florida and Wisconsin.
Prior to today's Palin rally, when questioned about the outbursts of "kill him!", "off with his head" and "terrorist!", recent features of Palin rallys, the director of Scranton "Democrats for McCain" remarked that
"I couldn’t imagine anyone even doing that," Ms. Oleski said of the hateful remarks. "Everything here has been really positive."
Ms. Oleski, I hope the "Scranton Democrats for McCain" are proud of this:
1:25 p.m.
Chris Hackett addressed the increasingly feisty crowd as they await the arrival of Gov. Palin.
Each time the Republican candidate for the seat in the 10th Congressional District mentioned Barack Obama the crowd booed loudly.
One man screamed "kill him!"
As a sidenote, Country band The Farmer's Daughter performed for the standing-room-only crowd. They played a version of the Lynyrd Skynyrd anthem "Sweet Home Alabama" but substituted "Pennsylvania" in the lyrics. It doesn't take a John Lewis to remind us which Governor that song is a salutes.
