So...I happened to bring a video camera to last weekends "Fainting Goat Festival" in Marshall County Tennessee, and followed around McCain campaigners. I don't know if it turned out as good as it sounds but I'll let you be the judge--

"Who would feel more comfortable at the Marshal County Fainting Goat Festival McCain or Obama?"
"Obama wouldn’t be comfortable here...Sarah Palin would be playin’ with the goats!"

Goats and Votes in Tennessee

Ever since the 2000 election when that "tree-hugger" Al Gore lost his own state, Tennessee has been solid red. This year seems no different—even though states like West Virginia are surprisingly showing their independence from the Republican Party—much of Tennessee’s working class voters continue to vote against their interests.
It’s a place where the classic American mythology of self-sufficiency, patriotism and moral integrity, that the Republican Party has so effectively co-opted, are as important as your physical well being. And with the McCain campaign flailing it seems the ground troops have returned to the tried and true method of challenging voters’ moral integrity by connecting Obama with terrorism, abortion, repressive government, and a welfare state. Oh... and also don’t forget he’s black...i.e. "He can’t relate to working class folks."
The Republican Women of Marshall County canvassed at the annual "Fainting Goat Festival" in a historically Democratic county. They say McCain has a better chance in this election because Obama "can't relate" to Marshall County voters.
