Lately, there have been numerous polls aiming to predict the outcome of the general election based on "swing counties", i.e. counties that are a pretty clear snapshot of what way voters will vote nationally. As you can see in this report, Arapahoe County, Colorado, is one of those counties, and, for the first time EVER, it has more democrats than republicans. I am here to tell you about the candidate who will be representing Arapahoe County for State Senate, Linda Newell.
And, perhaps just as important,
her opponent's voting record reminds me of a certain Vice Presidential candidate:
-guns in schools (in the county next to Columbine High School)
-execution of juveniles and the mentally impaired (what?)
-happily stands against women's rights (no on choice even in the case of incest and rape)
-Voted against paper records for voting, one of only 12 in the state to vote against.
-touts her endorsement by Tom Tancredo as a reason to vote for her.
Continue on to see the interview with someone who has the sensibility to lead in the state of Colorado, Linda Newell.
Linda has bipartisan support from Democrats and Republicans, and real world experience, some of which is especially crucial in these times of economic uncertainty - this quote is from her website:
At workforce development centers, she was a facilitator for dislocated workers who were laid off, and employees new to the workforce.
With some less than rosy economic forecasts on the horizon, it is nice to know someone running for office who has spent time helping people improve their lives through job development.
Join me in supporting a sensible candidate, with Bipartisan support.
