A steady hand at the tiller? Is that why John McCain keeps changing directions in his campaign? Is John McCain unable to get his boat out of the harbor so he can't take his hand off the tiller? The erratic, changes in direction are making us dizzy and his own party is calling them incoherent. I suppose he could have been talking about a soil tiller, but it would be in really poor taste for someone who keeps voting against farmers and rural communities to use that analogy. I can understand the need for a new direction because the policies that John McCain has championed for the last 26 years aren't working.
McCain says our economic suffering began with the housing crisis? If you don't live in a steel town, a textile town, a farming community or thousands of towns all over America that have been hurting from the policies that McCain has championed for his very long career as a professional politician that might be true. If you worked in any of those towns or had family in any of them, you know the truth. If you know that metal for weapons, clothing for our children, food for our tables and hard working, good paying jobs, are national defense issues that contribute to the strength of the American people then you are more aware of the truth than John McCain.
You are more aware of the truth than John McCain. John McCain wants to hand tax payer checks to the predatory lending industry that is forcing hard working people out on the street. He doesn't want to force the lenders to pay for their irresponsible behavior. John McCain wants to hand the lenders your money, let them refinance people at the higher prices they were fooled into believing they could afford, then McCain will go back to Washington and after he is elected we can start the crisis all over again.
John McCain can't turn a record of supporting big business at the expense of workers, farms, veterans, healthcare and the American people into a promise to help us. John McCain is promising the opposite of the experience he is running on.
John McCain promises more tax cuts on capital gains and dividends to get things moving. If it sounds familiar it should. Its the same big business handouts George Bush has been advocating. Its 8 years of planning to get us right where McCain wants us. Giving more money to the people paying for his campaign and more empty promises to the people who have spent the last 8 years watching the Bush/McCain economic plan bleed us dry as our jobs disappear from the streets of our vanishing towns.
"Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not BLINDLY rally behind it."
